Bathroom Remodel - Union Township, NJ
This master bathroom in Union Township, NJ hadn’t received an update since it was built in the early ‘80s, and the homeowners felt it was in dire need of a renovation. The goal was to bring it into the 21st century, and to make it more spacious and useable, and introduce classic finishes and a clean aesthetic.
Creating a room with more storage space was a top priority, as was improving the lighting and installing a larger walk-in shower. To make room for the larger shower, the homeowners decided to remove the large jetted soaking tub that consumed most of the space in the room. Since their children’s bathroom already featured a bathtub, the homeowners felt that it would be wise to eliminate the soaking tub and use the added space for the sunlit shower enclosure.
The new bathroom features maple “his and hers” vanities, painted in White Icing from Yorktowne, with Salinas White granite on the counters. This same granite was also used on the shower seat, curb, jamb and half wall. For the vanity faucets, handheld and rainhead in the shower, we used Brilliance Brushed Nickel from Brizo’s Baliza series. The floor is tiled with Navajo Savannah Cream by Cancos, and the interior of the shower is tiled with Cancos Neostone Venator—4 x 12 on the walls and a 2x2 mosaic on the shower floor.
